Thank you for your interest in participating in Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. Established in 1984 via presidential proclamation, this day is an opportunity for us as members of the Body of Christ to thank God for his creation. Here’s an excerpt from the proclamation: “I call upon the citizens of this blessed land to gather on that day in homes and places of worship to give thanks for the gift of life, and to reaffirm our commitment to the dignity of every human being and the sanctity of each human life.”
Psalm 127:3 was chosen for this year’s theme: Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from Him. It’s important that we proclaim this truth. Consider these U.S. abortion statistics:
- Nearly 50% of pregnancies are unintended; of those about 40% are terminated
- More than 50 million abortions since Roe v. Wade (1973)
- 1 in 4 women will have an abortion by age 30
- 37% of women obtaining abortions identify as Protestant; 28% as Catholic
