New Start Transitional Program

We are prayerfully developing a ministry model that will focus on helping individuals and families who desire to overcome challenging situations and receive the help they need to succeed.

Mission: To provide comprehensive resources, training, and the knowledge of Christ to individuals and families committed to a New Start and successful independent living.

New Start Transitional Program is a life transitions program with the goal of providing individuals and families with a second chance at life through education, resources, and training over a 9-24 month period. Participants will meet DES standards for assistance, but need additional resources and training in order to achieve their goal of permanent self-sufficiency. We pray that each client will make a successful transition to independent living and leave with the knowledge of Christ.

New Start Transitional Program consists of five components that work together to bring stability to the life of the client and prepare them for independent living:

I. Housing Stipend – Monthly stipends will provide the participants (18 years and older) with much needed assistance as they concentrate on the work required in the other four areas of the program.

II. Pregnancy and Parenting Education (women) – This curriculum educates the client on the importance of prenatal health and development, while preparing her for the responsibilities of motherhood.

III. Life Skills Training – With a dual focus on communication and money management, this training prepares the client for interviews and workplace demands as well as teaches them important financial lessons required for successful independent living.

IV. Bible Study – It is our prayer that every client who enters the New Start Transitional Program will experience the love of Christ and come to an understanding of His desire for a personal relationship with them. The Bible Study is an opportunity to share with the client God’s love for him/her.

V. Mentoring – One on one mentoring offers the client the opportunity to set their own personal, professional, spiritual, and financial goals, and then receive guidance in determining the steps needed to attain those goals as well as the accountability to follow through.

You can partner with New Start by making a commitment to support the program through monthly giving or a one time gift. Online giving is available if you click on “Donate” and select “Women’s Centers” under the Ministry Option.

If you would like to organize a group effort to support New Start through a Share-In-A-Life Campaign, we will gladly provide the coin banks and necessary details for a successful collection!

Our greatest need at this point is for individuals, groups, churches, and businesses to come along side us as Program Sponsors with monthly pledges.

Other ways to get involved supporting New Start:

Host a Share-In-A-Life Campaign. We provide the house shaped banks for you to distribute to your group or church to take home and fill with currency, coins, or a check and then return on a preset collection date.

Organize a Dessert Auction or Spaghetti Dinner. The ingredients are inexpensive and will be easy for people to donate, but the generous donations of those who enjoy the event will provide a New Start to individuals and families right in your own community.

Hold a Yard Sale or Craft Bazaar. Clean out your garage and help individuals and families in need at the same time! Or get together regularly with your friends to work on your favorite crafts and then sell them to benefit New Start at a culminating craft bazaar.

We believe that the New Start Transitional Program will be life changing for those who participate. It is our prayer that this program will impact our community for Christ as we seek to reach out to all in need of a new start.
