Planned Giving

Since 1960, Arizona Baptist Children's Services has provided hope and care to hurting children and families through Christ-centered ministries. Planned gifts through your estate help ensure Arizona families, from unborn babies to seniors, will receive hope and care for generations to come.

A planned giving strategy allows you to plan for your future, receive financial and tax benefits, and leave a legacy to make a lasting kingdom impact. These resources and tools are a guide for considering your planned giving options.

Cash

Give today or through your estate plan.

Insurance

You can name ABCS as a beneficiary of your insurance policy.

Retirement Assets

Gifts through qualified retirement accounts like IRAs, 401Ks, and 403(b)s can be tax free under the Qualified Charitable Distribution.

Gifts of Appreciate Assets

Real estate, stocks, and bonds that have appreciated can be given to ABCS to avoid additional fees.

Leaving a Legacy

God has called all of us to be wise stewards with the resources he has provided us. This goes for not only the resources we are blessed with during our life, but also what we accumulate and leave as a legacy when we pass away. God is continuing to expand his Kingdom each day and we all have the opportunity to be used by him to leave a lasting legacy in our families, churches and Christian ministries. What we have here on Earth cannot go with us when we pass away so we should not leave without a plan. Rather, through careful planning your resources can be used to fulfill the Great Commission of reaching every person for Christ even when you are no longer here.

Acknowledge God’s Ownership

You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today. -Deuteronomy 8:17-18

We Are Not Guaranteed Tomorrow

Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. -James 4:14

We Cannot Take Anything with Us

For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. -1 Timothy 6:7

We must be Good Stewards

“His master replied, “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!” -Matthew 25:21

Ways to Give

Giving through a Bequest

A bequest is the simplest way to make a gift to ABCS through your estate plan. It is a part of your will and with it you can specify a specific amount, percentage or residual amount of your estate that you would like to give to ABCS. You maintain control over your assets during your lifetime and they are only distributed after you pass away.

Giving through a Trust

A trust is an estate planning tool that provides more privacy and options than a will. With a trust, you can still make gifts to ABCS but you have more options in regards to the timing of when your gift is made and there are additional benefits you can consider if you would like to fund the trust with appreciated assets.

Creating a Beneficiary Designation

You can give to ABCS by creating a beneficiary designation on your retirement accounts, bank accounts or even your life insurance policies. This form of gift occurs at the time of death when the assets in those accounts or policies are paid out to beneficiaries.

IRA Rollover

The IRA rollover is a creative way to leave a gift to ABCS if you are 70 ½ or older. If you are in this age bracket and have an IRA, you are required to make minimum distributions on a yearly basis from your IRA that are subject to taxes. Congress has now made the IRA Charitable Rollover Act a permanent law and you can transfer up to $100,000 to our organization tax free, and it satisfies your yearly required minimum distribution for the year.

More Complex Gifts
