Don Greenwalt provides Christ-centered counseling to children, teenagers and adults. He specializes in ministering to hurting children through play therapy, but excels in ministering to couples and families struggling with a wide range of issues and concerns. He received his Bachelors degrees in Psychology and Religion from Grand Canyon College and continued his education at Northern Arizona University and Grand Canyon College. He served as a Southern Baptist bi-vocational pastor and was employed by Arizona’s Child Protective Services. Don ministers with New Life Counseling in the Yuma and Phoenix offices.

John is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a clinical member of the AAMFT (American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy), ICEEFT (International Center for Excellence in Emotionally-Focused Therapy), AZAPT (Arizona Branch of the Association of Play Therapy) and the AACC (American Association of Christian Counselors). He is an Approved AAMFT Supervisor and a Preferred Provider for the Crisis Care Network. John practices from an attachment perspective. EFT (Emotionally-Focused Therapy) is his preferred modality with couples, particularly those traumatized by domestic violence, infidelity, sexual addiction and pornography. He is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) with both adults and children. John has many years of experience working in trauma recovery with victims of incest, sexual molestation and other types of sexual assault. John is a facilitator of both support and therapeutic recovery groups.

Clyde Besson provides practical pastoral counseling for the entire family. With 40 years of experience as a pastor, family minister, seminar leader and author, he specializes in family relationships, marriage coaching, divorce recovery, anger management, chemical and substance abuse and healing from physical and sexual abuse. He received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana College and Master’s of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Seminary. Clyde is the author of Picking Up the Pieces for single adults and Growing Together for couples plus numerous video series. His ministry vision is to reconcile people to God and to one another as he assists them to grow spiritually, emotionally and relationally. He is affectionately known across the nation as “The Growth Coach.” Clyde ministers with New Life Counseling in Scottsdale.
Church Counseling Program
The Church Counseling Program is a partnership between New Life Counseling and local churches. Counseling is offered at a reduced rate with a portion of the fee being subsidized by the church.
