Guiding Principles
“And He took the children
in His arms, put His hands on them and blessed them.” Mark 10:16
Children were important to
Jesus as the scripture illustrates. Children are also
important to us at Arizona Baptist Children’s Services.
Unfortunately, many of the children that come into our arms have
been hurt by those who were supposed to love and care for them.
They need the love and blessings that only Jesus can provide.
That is what we are about at ABCS-sharing the love of Christ
with each person with whom we come in contact while at the same
time meeting physical and emotional needs.
Today’s families face a
multitude of stresses and challenges that sometimes can be
overwhelming. Arizona Baptist Children’s Services is here to
help. Since 1960, ABCS has been providing programs and
services to help Arizona’s children and their families.
Our statewide programs enable us to serve people in their own
locale.

Statement of Faith
We believe
in one God, Creator and Lord of the universe, eternally existent
in three persons: Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus
Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His
miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed
blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right
hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that the Bible is God’s
authoritative and inspired word. It is without error in its
entirety, including its teachings and creation, history, its own
origins, and salvation. Christians must submit to its divine
authority in all matters of belief and conduct.
We believe that all people are lost sinners
and cannot see the Kingdom of God except through the new birth.
Justification is by grace through faith in Christ alone.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy
Spirit whose indwelling enables the Christian to live a Godly
life.
We believe in the resurrection of both the
saved and the lost; the saved unto the resurrection of eternal
life, and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation and
eternal punishment.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers
in our Lord Jesus Christ and, therefore all true believers are
members of the body of Christ.
We believe that the ministry of evangelism is
a responsibility of both the church and each Christian.
Guiding Principles

Arizona Baptist
Children’s Services is an evangelical Christian Organization
that ministers to the physical, social, emotional,
educational and spiritual needs of children and families.

We value people because
every person is created in the image of God and is of
infinite worth to God. Every human life is significant in
all its dimensions, including the unborn, the aged, the
mentally challenged, the undesirable, the physically
challenged, and every other condition from conception to
grave.

We believe healthy
families are the best place for children, and seek to
strengthen families as well as address the needs of
children, teens and adults when families are broken
(unhealthy).

We strive to staff every
leadership and associate position with qualified candidates
who share our statement of faith and agree with our Guiding
Principles.

We value our historic
partnership with Arizona Southern Baptists and will continue
to cooperate with them in the proclamation of the Gospel of
Jesus Christ.

We will partner with
individuals, evangelical Christian churches, foundations and
government agencies to accomplish our mission, without
compromising our Christian Statement of Faith and Guiding
Principles.
